I am in love with this sauce! Sweet and bright. These are for the margarita lovers out there.
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup silver tequila
1/2 jalapeno sliced with seeds
1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
zest and juice of 1 lime
zest and juice of 1 lemon
1 tablespoon margarita salt (keeping it true to a margarita of course)
slurry (1/3 cup water mixed with 3 tablespoons cornstarch)
In saucepan bring water and sugar to boil. Reduce heat and simmer until sugar is dissolved.
Add remaining ingredients except slurry and simmer until mixture has slightly thickened.
Add slurry and stir. Allow mixture to simmer until thick.
